About UT Austin Graduate Women in Business

Graduate Women in Business (GWIB) at the University of Texas Austin McCombs School of Business is the principal organization dedicated to empowering women in the MBA program and advancing gender equity in the workplace. With over 200 members, GWIB is the largest student organization for full-time MBAs at McCombs, offering comprehensive professional development and career advancement resources tailored specifically for women business leaders.

GWIB provides extensive career development opportunities including exclusive employer networking events, skills development workshops, and a dedicated resource hub designed to prepare women for successful careers at the vanguard of business leadership. The organization hosts the annual Women in Business Leadership Symposium (WBLS), a half-day conference featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions with accomplished business leaders, and networking sessions that bring together MBA students, alumni, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives from across the country.

The organization's mission centers on three core goals: amplifying and celebrating the diversity of perspectives among McCombs MBA students, preparing women for leadership roles in business, and enhancing understanding of unique workplace challenges women face. GWIB members benefit from biweekly newsletters, social networking events including welcome dinners and holiday parties, and collaborative initiatives with other student organizations focused on workplace equity.

Serving the Austin, Texas business education community, GWIB is a founding member of the Forté Foundation, a national non-profit organization designed to increase the number of women business owners and leaders. All female MBA students at McCombs receive complimentary membership to the Forté network, connecting them with a broader ecosystem of women in business.
