Mississippi Women Lawyers Association

The Mississippi Women Lawyers Association (MWLA) represents a diverse community of legal professionals serving Jackson, MS and throughout the state. Comprised of women attorneys practicing across all sectors of the legal profession—including private practice, corporate law, government service, judiciary, academia, and law students—MWLA provides a unified platform for professional development and networking. Since its founding in 1976 by thirty pioneering women attorneys, the organization has grown to represent approximately 1,500 women lawyers across Mississippi. MWLA members span the full spectrum of legal expertise and specialization, working in various practice areas and professional capacities. The association is dedicated to enhancing the professional image of lawyers in Mississippi while fostering meaningful fellowship among members of the legal community. By bringing together women from diverse legal backgrounds and experience levels, MWLA creates opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth. The organization actively supports the advancement of women within the legal profession through advocacy, education, and professional networking initiatives that strengthen the legal community across the state.
