Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association

The Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association is a professional organization dedicated to supporting and advancing women attorneys throughout the Richmond, VA legal community. Since its official founding in 1974, MRWBA has grown from a small group of pioneering lawyers to a robust 200-member organization serving judges, in-house counsel, solo practitioners, attorneys at large and medium-sized firms, government attorneys, and legal professionals across all practice settings. The association provides comprehensive professional development through monthly educational programs held September through May at Willow Oaks Country Club, supplemented by continuing legal education opportunities, member socials, and specialized mentorship events throughout the year. MRWBA members benefit from networking opportunities with accomplished legal professionals, including former attorneys general, Virginia Supreme Court justices, members of the Virginia General Assembly, and dedicated professionals in private practice, academia, public service, and corporate law. The organization enhances career advancement through structured mentorship programs, legislative education initiatives, and public service projects that strengthen the Richmond legal profession. As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, MRWBA remains committed to fostering professional excellence and personal satisfaction for women in law while maintaining its historic mission of education and networking.
