About Marshall Women's Leadership Board
Marshall Women's Leadership Board is USC's premier professional development organization for female-identifying and non-binary undergraduates, based in Los Angeles, CA. Since its establishment in 1999, MWLB has served as the oldest women-led organization at the University of Southern California, dedicated to cultivating the next generation of female business leaders across all academic disciplines.
The organization offers comprehensive professional development programming throughout the academic year, featuring speakers from leading companies including Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Google, Amazon, Disney, and Pfizer. Members gain exposure to diverse career paths spanning finance, technology, entertainment, marketing, and consulting through curated speaker series and networking events. The organization hosts signature networking opportunities including the Mocktails event and Office Visits, designed to facilitate meaningful connections between members and industry professionals.
MWLB's New Member Program provides structured professional skill-building, covering resume refinement, cover letter development, interview preparation, networking fundamentals, email etiquette, and internship negotiation strategies. General members commit approximately one hour weekly to Tuesday evening meetings, with new members participating in biweekly professional development sessions.
Beyond professional opportunities, MWLB fosters community through social programming including semester retreats, team-building activities, and social events both on and off campus. The Big-Little mentorship program pairs new members with returning members, while Peer Career Advisors provide guidance on industry-specific pathways. With 50 members representing 14 different majors across the Los Angeles campus, MWLB creates a diverse network of ambitious women united by their passion for business and mutual support.
