About GW Women in Business

GW Women in Business is an undergraduate student organization and affiliate of the George Washington University School of Business, dedicated to bridging the gap between academic and professional life for undergraduate women in Washington, DC. The organization provides comprehensive professional development programming designed to equip members with the skills and confidence necessary to excel in the workforce.

The organization's core programming focuses on three essential areas: Careers, Connections, and Community. Through carefully curated workshops and general body meetings, GW Women in Business helps members develop practical professional competencies including interviewing skills, resume development, and workplace communication. The organization facilitates meaningful networking opportunities through its signature events, including an annual New York networking trip featuring site visits to leading companies such as HBO, Ogilvy, Tarte, NYSE, Bank of America, and LinkedIn, along with exclusive alumni networking dinners.

The DC Trek program brings members on a one-day exploration of career opportunities in the Washington, DC area, with site visits to major organizations including Northwestern Mutual, McClatchy, the International Monetary Fund, and Edelman. Each spring, GW Women in Business hosts its annual Spring Conference, a professional gathering featuring distinguished keynote speakers, industry-focused panels spanning fashion, finance, and other sectors, and specialized workshops designed for student development.

Founded in 2006 by interns from Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns, the organization has grown to become a vibrant community that emphasizes confidence-building, professional empowerment, and leadership development. Members gain access to Ambassador Programs and committee leadership opportunities that allow them to apply skills across various industries. GW Women in Business serves all undergraduate women across George Washington University's schools, creating an inclusive network where members learn, grow, and support one another throughout their professional journeys.
