Coalition of Labor Union Women Central PA Chapter

The Coalition of Labor Union Women Central PA Chapter serves the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania community as part of America's only national organization dedicated exclusively to union women. Since its founding in 1974, CLUW has operated as a nonpartisan organization within the labor movement, providing comprehensive advocacy and support services for women workers throughout the region. The Central PA Chapter focuses on four core strategic objectives: empowering women for greater participation at all levels within the labor movement, organizing unorganized workers, promoting affirmative action and social and economic justice in the workplace, and increasing women's participation in political and legislative processes. Members of the Harrisburg chapter actively champion critical workplace issues including equal pay initiatives, child and elder care benefits, job security protections, safe workplace standards, affordable health care access, contraceptive equity, and protection from sexual harassment and workplace violence. The organization provides structured membership opportunities, resources, and networking platforms that enable union women to collectively address shared challenges and develop actionable solutions within the framework of organized labor. Through committees, workshops, and advocacy initiatives, the Central PA Chapter connects members with tools and information necessary to advance women's rights and strengthen union representation across Pennsylvania's capital region.
