Since its establishment in 1910, CFUW-Ottawa has grown to nearly 500 members who are committed to promoting social justice, fellowship, and lifelong learning. CFUW-Ottawa provides comprehensive opportunities for members to participate in over 40 specialized Interest Groups covering diverse topics ranging from language and music to the arts, literature, gourmet cooking, and sports. The organization hosts monthly General Meetings and Speaker Series featuring expert presentations on educational, political, social, health, and cultural issues. Beyond member engagement, CFUW-Ottawa actively supports female university and college students through its Scholarship Trust Fund, which annually disburses over 40 scholarships and awards. The organization conducts in-depth research on critical social issues, develops policy resolutions, and advocates for change on matters concerning women's status, human rights, education, and legislation related to peace, justice, and environmental protection. As part of a national federation with nearly 100 clubs across Canada and connected to Graduate Women International, a network active in over 60 countries, CFUW-Ottawa members benefit from extensive professional and personal networks while contributing to a global movement for women's advancement.
