Canadian Federation of University Women Nepean

Canadian Federation of University Women Nepean is a dynamic, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to advancing women's equality and promoting lifelong learning across Nepean, ON and beyond. Since its establishment in 1991, CFUW Nepean has grown into a thriving community hub offering a diverse range of programming designed to engage, educate, and empower women of all educational backgrounds.

The organization hosts monthly general meetings featuring speakers addressing local, national, and international issues affecting women and society. These public forums provide opportunities for informed dialogue on contemporary topics relevant to women's lives and leadership. In addition to general meetings, CFUW Nepean maintains multiple interest and study groups that meet monthly to accommodate varied pursuits and intellectual interests, with specialized groups like Bridge meeting weekly for members seeking regular engagement.

CFUW Nepean administers a Scholarship Trust Fund that provides annual scholarships to support women's advanced study and research. As part of the broader CFUW network—a national non-profit organization of nearly 9,000 women across 110 clubs in Canada—the Nepean chapter connects members to provincial, national, and international initiatives through CFUW Ontario Council and Graduate Women International, representing over 60 countries globally. The organization maintains special consultative status at the United Nations and participates in UNESCO's Sectorial Committee on Education.

Membership is open to any woman who supports CFUW's goals of promoting human rights, public education, social justice, and peace. With a commitment to non-partisan, voluntary service, CFUW Nepean welcomes new members and invites women to participate in its mission of fostering understanding, friendship, cooperation, and networking within the Nepean community.
