Canadian Federation of University Women Etobicoke

The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Etobicoke chapter in Toronto, ON, offers a comprehensive range of programs and activities designed to promote education, equality, and community engagement for women of all life stages. With nearly 250 active members, the organization hosts monthly general meetings featuring distinguished speakers on topics relevant to public affairs, education, culture, and social issues. The chapter operates 40 diverse interest groups spanning arts, bridge, dining, walking, health, books, and community service—providing members with opportunities to pursue learning, maintain wellness, and develop meaningful friendships. The chapter administers a Charitable Trust that provides educational bursaries to students at Humber College, York University, the University of Toronto, and Toronto Metropolitan University. Additionally, the organization maintains active outreach partnerships with community organizations including the Daily Bread Food Bank, women's shelters, Habitat for Humanity, and the Red Cross Meals on Wheels program. Members participate in Ontario Council Standing Committees focused on legislation, education, and women's human rights, attending regional gatherings held three times annually in downtown Toronto.
