The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance District of Columbia Chapter serves accounting and finance professionals throughout Washington, DC with comprehensive professional development and networking opportunities. As a chapter of the national AFWA organization founded in 1938, the DC chapter has been supporting accounting professionals since 1950. The organization caters to a diverse membership including individual practitioners, partners, and managers in accounting firms, as well as professionals in industry, government, academia, and accounting information systems. Members benefit from monthly dinner meetings and social gatherings held September through June, providing valuable opportunities to connect with peers and expand professional networks. The chapter is committed to advancing continuing education through quality CPE programs, featuring expert presentations on relevant and emerging topics in accounting, finance, information systems, and management. While many members hold professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, and CFP, certification is not required for membership.
